After completed Fiorello LaGuardia high school of music arts and performing arts in New York, Zana took an unusuall step for the people who left Bosnia - she changed New York for Sarajevo and she came back to her hometown. She enrolled into Academy of performing arts in Sarajevo, acting department.
Summer in the Golden Valley is her first film experience.
